Audrey Hepburn's father abandoned her and her family when she was only six years old.He was not involved in her life for twenty years. She also grew up during World War II,which means that she suffered and didn't receive enough nutrition which caused her to be too thin during her adolescent years. After the war ended ,UNICEF provided her and others who were affected with food and medical relief. These situations affected how she shaped her life and values in this world.
She valued her family and despite her busy schedule, tried to be with her sons as much as possible. She did not want to expose her children to the same experience she had to go through with her father's absence.
She had such compassion and affection towards children.
So as she turned older, and still maintained her grand beauty, glorious personality, and wisdom, she then became the UNICEF ambassador.
